The new website is broken down into public information and community-only information:

Public info includes information for the general public on the school, its history, calendar, admissions, contact info, etc.  Also, newsflashes such as inclement weather alerts, reminders, etc will appear on the front page.
The community-only section requires a login.  To set yourself up with a login, please use the link to your left.  Click “Register” to set up a new account.  Make sure you use a valid email address, as it will be used to confirm your registration details.
The community-only section contains:

  • Community forums

Please share your ideas about what type of features you’d like to see.  Also, please share your ideas, opinions about the site’s design and basic layout.  The Community Forums are a great place for this.

Please understand that this is a volunteer effort.  Every effort is being made to make this a valuable, enriching tool for the Cedarwood School Community.

Cedarwood’s New Home

Cedarwood’s Expansion Plan

With more than 250 students, excellent teachers, a strong parent community, and professional administrators, Cedarwood is poised to transition to a new

level as a school. Our current school building is simply not big enough to house our full pre K – 8th grade program. Happily, we can grow on the property

we already own. By renovating the old, unused annex attached to our school and modifying sections of our current building,we can create a beautifully expanded space.

The renovated annex will house two large airy rooms for our performing arts program: orchestra, eurythmy, movement, world music program, and drama. We will create a full-sized woodworking shop, library and transform the annex’s dilapidated pool into a gymnasium. A community kitchen and parent lounge will at long last offer parents a place to gather. Perhaps most importantly, this expansion creates the opportunity for our middle school program to blossom.

We plan to begin the annex renovation in August of 2010 with a goal of opening the doors to our new wing in September of 2011. The renovations to our current building will occur the following year.

How We Get There

To fund this project, Cedarwood is kicking off a Capital Campaign. Our goal is to raise one million dollars from within the Cedarwood community – board, staff, parents, extended family and friends – $550,000 in gifts and $450,000 in loans. We have already received several significant contributions towards that goal. Once we have raised one million dollars, we will receive a two-phased bank loan to complete our funding package of $2, 575,00. We invite you to join us with a generous contribution.

Twelve years ago a small group of passionate leaders created this school; now it is our turn to take up that mantle and continue the tradition of visionary leadership. When we make a financial gift to build the new wing, we are investing in what we value most.

If you would like to make a gift, contact our development director, Ann Powers, at 503-245-1477 x14 or annp@cedarwoodschool.org This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
