A look at our 8th Grade Projects

Our 8th Grade projects are being launched and will be on display in March.

Here's a look at what those projects are.

Lena – A Study of Women in Education

My name is Lena Abraham, and for my 8th grade project I am researching Girls and Education. On Friday February the 10th @ 6:30 pm here at Cedarwood, I am hosting a screening of "He Named Me Malala," to inform people of the injustice in education that girls are facing all over the globe.

Suggested donation is $5/person, and there will be snacks for sale, too. Children are welcome! I will also be collecting gently used clothes to donate to the Malala Fund.

All money raised will be donated to the Malala Fund.

For more information and to RSVP, please email me at: lenaalou@gmail.com

Joie – Earthquake Preparedness

Everyone is invited to "Get Ready for the Big One," a free emergency preparedness workshop at 10 am Saturday, March 4, at school. There will be a speaker from the American Red Cross, a free kids session, a raffle, and a sale of emergency supplies to raise money for the 8th grade trip.
