Magical Winter Faire December 5, 2015

On Saturday, December 5th from 10am-4 pm meet King Winter, the Wishing Stone Wizard, and the Winter Fairies at Cedarwood Waldorf School. The 11th annual Winter Faire is upon us. Come see our school transformed into a magical Winter Wonderland: children will be able to visit the crystal cookie cave, do crafts in the wool room, and dip candles in the wax room. Everybody wins in the family game room, and keep your eyes out for the Pocket Lady! Grownups can buy holiday gifts from any one of the 33 local artisans in our marketplace and have lunch at the Cedarwood café or enjoy coffee and cider and baked goods as you walk around. Don’t miss this annual tradition.

If you’d like to be a vendor in our Artisan’s Marketplace please download  document below & mail into Cedarwood, Attention Winter Faire Vendor Coordinator.

Cedarwood Calendar

All Cedarwood families are invited to upload our school calendar to their personal scheduling devices (smartphone, Google calendar, etc.). Please go to the Cedarwood Calendar tab on our website.  This will keep you informed of all classroom and school activities.

*Please note that calendaring for an entire school community can be a challenging endeavor, and occasionally events throughout the year will need to be rescheduled. We will do our best to keep you updated when these changes occur. We thank you in advance for your understanding.

Inclement Weather UPDATE

Cedarwood follows inclement weather closures for Southwest Portland Public Schools, Multnomah County. In the event that PPS closes selected SW schools, please go to the Cedarwood website ( To determine if Cedarwood is having a school closure or late start follow instructions for Lincoln High School. If PPS has a 2-hour delay, Cedarwood will have a 2-hour delay. If the 2-hour delay is on a Thursday, all classes are cancelled. Please tune your radio to KEX 750 AM or KXL 1190 or KGW Channel 8 News which will have a list scrolling across the bottom of the television screen with the same information. Please remember that Cedarwood students come from all parts of the metro area. The weather may be fine at your house but not at school or vice-versa, so please stay informed and use your best judgment before you set out; safety is the primary concern.

If for some reason a closure is necessary after the school day has begun, a phone tree will be initiated to instruct all parents to pick up their children. It is important that the school have current home, work, pager, and cell phone number in order to reach you quickly.
