Cedarwood’s camps are filled with crafting, storytelling, outdoor adventure, and plenty of time for play as campers explore the season of summer together.
Our early childhood camps are for children ages 3 through rising first grade. Our grades camps are for children in rising grades 2–8. All grade levels refer to the grade your child will enter in the 2026-27 school year.
Students not currently enrolled at Cedarwood are welcome to register for summer camp, except for three-year-olds who did not attend Cedarwood Waldorf School during the 2025-26 school year.
Early Childhood Summer Camps (Pre-K-Grade 1)
Hummingbird (ages 3-5) and Meadowlark (ages 5-7)
Summer is even sweeter with Cedarwood’s Early Childhood Camps, where young children can experience the magic of Cedarwood in a relaxed and playful setting. Days are filled with singing, crafting, storytelling, and plenty of outdoor fun, all designed to nourish your child’s creativity and coordination. Modeled after Cedarwood’s early childhood rhythm, this camp is perfect for little ones who love gentle structure and big adventures.
For children ages 3 to 6, this is the perfect way to enjoy summer with a dash of Cedarwood magic.

Grades Summer Camps
Session 1: June 22-26, 2026
Circus Arts (Rising Grades 5-8)
Circus Arts Camp invites campers to explore the magic of circus through stilt walking, diablo, ribbon twirling, balancing, clowning, and theatrical play, all while collaborating on a wildly entertaining original performance. Led by Michael O’Neill—co-founder of the Nomadic Theatre Company and a seasoned performer, director, and educator—campers in the upper grades work both alongside and apart from the lower grades, building skills, confidence, and joyful stage presence in a week full of high-flying fun.
Circus Arts (Rising Grades 2-4)
Circus Arts Camp invites children to explore circus skills like stilt walking, diablo, balancing, and clowning through playful games, creative prop-making, and theatrical collaboration. Led by longtime circus artist and educator Heather Pearl, campers work together to create a joyful end-of-week performance filled with laughter and high-flying fun.
Session 2: July 6 - 10, 2026
Cooking Camp (Rising Grades 2-8)
Cooking Camp offers a joyful week of food, nature, and play, where campers explore hands-on cooking, discover new flavors from around the world, and build confidence creating recipes they can recreate at home. Led by warm and experienced Waldorf educator Maestra Silvia, the days are balanced with outdoor adventures, community connections, and the simple delight of preparing and sharing food together.
Adventures in Comics, Week 1 (Rising Grades 3 - 8)
Comics Camp invites campers into a lively blend of art, storytelling, and outdoor adventure, where mornings are spent creating characters and stories for a new issue of the beloved Out of Our Minds!! comics compilation and afternoons are filled with sketching, exploring, and playful summer fun. Led by Jacob Wooton and Michael Sammler, with a guest artist joining each week, campers build artistic skills, creative confidence, and a love of visual storytelling—plus they head home with a sketchbook, a comic gift bag, and a fresh issue to inspire art all summer long.
Session 3: July 13 - 17, 2026
Book Arts Camp (Rising Grades 2-8)
Book Arts Camp invites young creators to design and bind their own one-of-a-kind books, blending art, story, and hands-on craft through playful experimentation and a lively collage-filled week. Guided by Cedarwood Educational Support Instructor and book artist Skye Archer, campers balance creative studio time with outdoor play and a special behind-the-scenes library visit, making this a joyful celebration of making, imagination, and discovery.

Printmaking Camp (Rising Grades 2-8)
This fiber arts camp invites campers to explore the magic of printing on fabric as they design screen-printed T-shirts, carve linoleum for block printing, experiment with eco printing using plants, and sew handmade pieces throughout the week. Led by fiber artist and educator Nanni Richardson, the days are filled with hands-on creativity, natural materials, and joyful making—sending campers home with cherished, self-expressive creations.
Outdoor Adventure Camp (Rising Grades 2-8)
This adventure-filled camp invites campers to explore nearby natural areas while building wilderness skills like fire making, shelter building, plant knowledge, and wildcrafting through hands-on experience. Led by the dynamic duo of Leah Arkills-McLain and Frankie Vega, days are filled with forest games, teamwork, stewardship, and joyful outdoor play—creating lasting memories rooted in nature, movement, and adventure.
Session 5: July 27 - July 31
Mixed Media Art Camp (Rising Grades 2-6)
Returning for a second year, Mixed Media Art Camp invites young artists to explore a wide range of materials—fiber, beads, paint, paper, and upcycled objects—while creating custom sketchbooks, individual works, and collaborative art pieces. Led by fiber artist and educator Nanni Richardson, campers enjoy creative freedom, experiment with beloved and brand-new techniques, and culminate the week by sharing their imaginative creations in a joyful family art gallery.
Upcycling Sweaters Camp (Rising Grades 2-8)
Upcycling Sweaters Camp invites campers to transform old sweaters into cozy, whimsical creations like mittens, pillows, and stuffed animals while exploring the joy of sustainable, hands-on crafting. Guided by longtime Waldorf educator Silvia Santana, children build confidence, creativity, and pride in making something entirely their own—sending them home with both treasured projects and new skills.
Session 6: August 3 - 7, 2026
Pioneer Camp (Rising Grades 2-8)
Pioneer Camp invites children to step back in time and experience the daily life of early settlers through hands-on crafts like basket weaving, sewing, and embroidery, alongside cooking, songs, stories, and folk dancing. Led by longtime Cedarwood community member Elaine Schumacher, the week unfolds as a joyful blend of tradition and togetherness, culminating in a festive park celebration the whole family can enjoy.
Summer Camp Refund Policy
Cedarwood Cancellations:
Cedarwood will issue a full refund for a program or camp canceled by the school. Any cancellation of a camp by Cedarwood will take place at least two weeks in advance of the camp start date. A camp may be canceled if there are fewer than 10 students enrolled.
Camps may also be canceled due to high heat or poor air quality. In the case of poor air quality due to wildfires, camps will be closed for the day if the air quality is rated 151 or higher (unhealthy) by 6:30 a.m. and there is reason to believe it will remain so for a substantial portion of the day.
Parent Cancellations:
Cancellation of more than 3 months prior to the start date of that camp receives a full refund.
Cancellation 3 months prior to the start date of that camp receives a 50% refund.
Cancellation 2 months prior to the start date of that camp receives a 25% refund.
Cancellation 1 month or less prior to the start date of that camp receives NO REFUND.
