After Cedarwood

Graduation & Beyond

At Cedarwood, we keep the long view in mind. We strive to prepare students for lives of purpose, curiosity, and meaningful contribution. We recognize that a successful transition to high school is an important milestone on that path, and we work closely with families to help each student find the school where they will continue to grow and thrive.

Where Our Graduates Go

Many Paths, One Strong Foundation

Cedarwood graduates attend a wide range of public, private, and charter high schools throughout the Portland area. Because our students come from many neighborhoods and each brings unique strengths, interests, and aspirations, there is no single path after eighth grade. Instead, we help each family find the high school where their child will continue to be challenged, supported, and inspired.

How We Prepare Students

Throughout the middle school years, students develop the independence, organization, critical thinking, and self-confidence that prepare them for success in high school. By eighth grade, they are ready to advocate for themselves, manage increasingly complex work, and embrace new opportunities with curiosity and resilience.

Transition Support

During eighth grade, we guide families through the high school selection process, helping them understand timelines, admissions requirements, and available options.
