Class of 2029: Rainbow Bridge Ceremony

We welcomed our newest first graders, the Class of 2029, across the Rainbow Bridge in June.

This special tradition at Cedarwood is a way for rising first graders to summon the courage and strength they’ve been building in kindergarten and cross over the bridge into the elementary school.

The children are guided by the team of early childhood teachers who have so lovingly cared for them in pre-kindergarten and kindergarten, and are met by their new class teacher — as well as many of the other teachers and helpers they will be learning and growing with during their journey through the grades.

This particular bridge crossing day was very rainy, and our wooden bridge was slippery! But with the gentle support of their teachers, each child crossed over and joined their new class in the first grade classroom for a simple and sweet circle time with their teacher, Ms. Blaser.
