Break Camps

Grades 1-5

The Woodland Adventures Break Camp program is offered to students grades 1-5. We will be exploring the natural wonders of the great outdoors as well as deepening our play experience through group games and crafts.

Each day is a new adventure!

Examples of field trip outings include walking trips to Marquam Nature Park, OHSU’s aerial tram, the South Waterfront, and the Tilikum Crossing. Each of these areas is within walking distance from school.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
Camp begins promptly at 8:30 am in the Performance Space. The day’s hike typically begins first thing in the morning, so late arrival could result in the student missing the group. As the children are off-site throughout the day, early pick-up could require additional coordination with the teacher.

WHAT TO BRING:
A hearty lunch, morning and afternoon snack, water bottle, back pack, extra pair of clothing, seasonally appropriate outdoor clothing (i.e. rain gear, sun block, hat, etc.).

Please do not pack any toys, candy, or things that would not ordinarily be brought to school.

REGISTRATION:
You are welcome to sign up for a single day, multiple days, or all days of Break Camp. Registration will close the week before the camp begins to allow staff enough time to prepare.

Early Childhood

The Early Childhood Chickadee Break Camps are offered to all Early Childhood Students Pre-K through Kindergarten.

These days are modeled to follow a rhythm that supports the young child in an imaginative and creative way that resembles our daily rhythm of our early childhood program.

Each day lovingly nourishes the child's developing coordination, cooperation and creativity. Your child will enjoy days filled with singing, crafting, story-telling, and a delicious nutritious snack with plenty of time for indoor and outdoor free playtime.

Our early childhood camps are taught by our dedicated assistants in one of our beautiful early childhood classrooms.

This year’s Thanksgiving Break Camp will be shaped around the theme grateful autumn. Children will participate in crafts and activities focused around the changing of the season and cultivating gratitude for all that we have. Let the abundance and beauty of the season inspire warmth and generosity in our hearts!

WHAT TO BRING:
Pack a hearty lunch, morning and afternoon snack, and water bottle in a basket, and send rain gear, a warm layer, and change of clothes with your child.

Please do not pack any toys, candy, or things that would not ordinarily be brought to school.

REGISTRATION:
You are welcome to sign up for a single day, multiple days, or all days of Break Camp. Registration will close the weekend before the camp begins to allow staff enough time to prepare.
