Jacob Wooton will teach weekly Lego Robotics practices, coaching students in developing their STEM skills in a fun team environment. The Gnerdy Gnomes are here to brainstorm new ideas, recruit team members, and keep their technique sharp.

This is an outstanding opportunity to build STEM skills and have fun learning with a Gnerdy team.

Lego robotics is a project based challenge with three main components that students are practicing:

1) The first component is the "robot game", this is the challenge most students think about when they hear Lego robotics. This is where students build and program a robot to accomplish different tasks on a game board. The goal is to see how many challenges they can complete in just under 3 minutes.

2) The second component is "the project", where students research and develop a solution to a problem. Cedarwood’s Gnerdy Gnomes have won first place in this category in the past because our students are creative and are strong communicators.

3) The third component is "gracious professionalism", which is a fancy and trademarked term Lego uses to say, "be kind and work hard". This is an essential skill for all of us in life and very important in meeting the goals of our team.
